How to Play Nerdle
- Type a valid equation. Use digits 0-9, one or two operators (+, −, ×, ÷) and one = sign. It must fill all 8 tiles and be mathematically correct — 12+35=47 works, 12+35=48 is rejected.
- Submit and read the colours. Green = character correct and in place; yellow = in the equation but elsewhere; grey = not in the equation.
- Deduce the hidden equation. Use the colours across your six guesses to pin down each digit, the operator and the equals sign.

Strategy Tips
- Open with 8 different characters. A first guess like 12+36=48 covers eight distinct digits and an operator in one shot, mapping the answer fast.
- Lock the equals sign early. The = position splits expression from result — if it sits green at spot 6, the answer is a single digit, which narrows the whole board.
- Treat yellows as positions to avoid. A yellow character must move somewhere it has not failed yet; combine that with the operator's position to rebuild the structure.
