Memory Match Game - Flip Cards & Find Matching Pairs Online Free

How to Play Memory Match

The Memory Match Game is a classic card-matching puzzle that tests and improves your short-term memory. A set of face-down cards is laid out on the board, each hiding a unique symbol. Your goal is to flip cards two at a time and find all the matching pairs.

Rules

  • Click any card to flip it over and reveal the symbol underneath.

  • Click a second card — if the two symbols match, the pair is removed from the board.

  • If the two cards do not match, both are flipped back face-down after a brief moment.

  • Your challenge is to remember where each symbol is hidden so you can find its match later.

  • The game is won when all matching pairs have been found!

Difficulty Levels

  • Easy (4×4) — 8 pairs, 16 cards. Perfect for kids and beginners learning the game.

  • Medium (4×6) — 12 pairs, 24 cards. Requires focused concentration and memory skills.

  • Hard (6×6) — 18 pairs, 36 cards. A serious memory challenge for experienced players!

Scoring

  • Your score is based on the number of card flips — fewer flips means a better score!

  • The timer tracks how fast you clear the entire board. Try to beat your personal best!

  • Each matched pair earns points, with bonus points for consecutive correct matches.

Tips for Winning

  • Flip systematically — go row by row or column by column to methodically uncover cards.

  • When you flip a card, say the symbol out loud or mentally to reinforce it in your memory.

  • Group cards by themes (colors, shapes, categories) to create memory associations.

  • If you see a card that matches one you remember, flip the match immediately before you forget.

  • Avoid random clicking — each flip should be intentional and based on memory recall.

  • For harder levels, focus on memorizing small clusters of 4-6 cards at a time.
