Make 10 Puzzle - Combine Four Numbers to Reach 10 Online Free
What Is the Make 10 Puzzle?
The Make 10 puzzle is a quick-fire mental-math game: you are given four random numbers, and the challenge is to combine all of them — with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division — into an expression that equals exactly 10. It is the faster, lighter cousin of the 24 Points game, ideal for warming up your arithmetic, and it plays free in your browser.
How to Play Make 10
- Look at your four numbers. Each round deals four numbers to work with.
- Combine them with the four operations. Use +, −, × and ÷, with every number appearing exactly once.
- Make the result equal 10. Rearrange until the expression lands on exactly ten.
- Keep solving rounds. Each solved puzzle leads to the next set of numbers; aim for a long streak.

Scoring Rules
- Scoring: every equation that reaches exactly 10 adds +1 point to your run. Wrong combinations cost nothing — undo freely and try a different order.
- Time limit: choose 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes before you start; the countdown runs continuously until it reaches zero.
- Submitting: when time runs out, press the green Submit Score button on the results panel. You need to be logged in — if you are not, a login window pops up first and your submission continues automatically after you sign in.
- Per-limit best: your best solved count is saved separately for each time limit (5 / 10 / 20 / 30 min), and the results panel flags a new personal record the moment you beat it.
- Leaderboard: results are ranked on the leaderboard under the time limit you played — a 5-minute run competes with 5-minute runs, a 30-minute run with 30-minute runs.
Strategy Tips
- Think in pairs that make 10. Pairs like 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6 and 5+5 are instant wins — check whether your four numbers can split into two such pairs.
- Use subtraction to reshape. When no pair fits, a quick difference like 8 − 3 = 5 often creates the partner you need.
- Work backwards from 10. Ask "what plus, minus, times or divided by what gives 10?" and test whether your numbers can produce those ingredients.
Make 10 FAQ
Is Make 10 free to play?
Yes — it is completely free on this site. No paywall, no download and no account; open the page and start combining.
Do I have to use all four numbers?
Yes. Each of the four numbers must appear in your expression exactly once, combined with +, −, × or ÷, to reach exactly ten.
What if I can't find a solution?
Try splitting the numbers into two pairs that each make ten, or use a subtraction to reshape a number. Every round is solvable, so a different pairing or order usually unlocks it.
