Sumplete - Cross Out Numbers to Match Row & Column Sums Online Free
What Is Sumplete?
Sumplete is a cross-out number puzzle in the Sudoku family: a grid of numbers sits with a target sum on each row and column, and you delete or keep numbers so that the remaining numbers add up exactly to their targets. Every cell belongs to one row and one column, so each decision ripples in two directions — a clean, deep mental-arithmetic workout, free in your browser.
How to Play Sumplete
- Read the targets. Each row's target sits on its right; each column's target sits at the bottom.
- Tap cells to delete, keep or restore. Tap once to cross out (✕, no longer counted), again to lock in (◉, kept in the sum), a third time to reset.
- Watch the targets turn green. The game checks after every click and lights a target green when its row or column sums exactly right.
- Turn every target green to win. The puzzle is complete when all row and column sums match their targets.

Strategy Tips
- Spot rows that already match. If a row or column already sums to its target, lock every cell in it — those numbers are all forced.
- Start with small targets. A tiny target almost always means crossing out the large numbers in that line, which cascades into the columns those cells sit in.
- Look at corners first. A corner cell affects a row and a column simultaneously, so deciding it early resolves two lines at once.
Sumplete FAQ
Is Sumplete free?
Yes — it is completely free on this site. No paywall, no download and no account; open the page and start crossing out.
How do I win a puzzle?
Turn every row and column target green. That means the remaining (non-crossed) numbers in each line add up exactly to that line's target sum.
What if I get stuck?
Use the ◉ lock on numbers you are sure about, cross-validate rows against their columns, and tap Hint when you need a nudge — it reveals a cell that should be kept.
